GPOX
Industry:
Consumer Distribution & Retail

DESCRIPTION

GPO Plus (GPOX) is a Direct Store Delivery (DSD) distributor serving convenience stores and gas stations, primarily across the Midwest. GPOX visits retail partner locations weekly to replenish shelves with fast-moving consumer goods, handling inventory management, shelf stocking, and product selection on behalf of the retailer — so store operators don't need to place orders or manage shelf inventory themselves. GPOX generates revenue through three channels: a wholesale markup on third-party products it buys and resells, delivery fees charged for its weekly DSD service, and sales of its own manufactured branded products, which carry higher margins since GPOX captures both the manufacturer and distributor margin. The business model benefits from geographic density — the more stores GPOX serves in a given area, the more efficiently its drivers and hub network operate. GPOX's growth strategy targets the fragmented 15–20% of convenience store products not handled by large broadline distributors, arguing it can consolidate the many small regional vendors currently serving that segment by offering weekly DSD service and broader coverage that smaller vendors can't match. GPOX's longer-term ambition is to scale to over 20,000 locations nationwide, up from its current Midwest footprint.
