DESCRIPTION

NEXT-ChemX is an early-stage company developing a proprietary ion extraction technology called iTDE (Ion-Targeting Continuous-Flow Direct Extraction), which it is working to commercialize through a modular system called the CPiTDE. The CPiTDE system extracts specific ions — such as lithium and rare metals — from liquid feedstocks like brines, geothermal fluids, and mining leach solutions by passing liquid through hollow fiber membranes that attract targeted ions without requiring high pressure, elevated temperature, or electrolysis. The company argues this approach is more energy-efficient and environmentally cleaner than competing extraction methods. The system is built around 40-foot container-sized units that can be scaled by adding capacity, and is customized for each customer's specific feedstock composition. NEXT-ChemX's primary near-term target is lithium extraction from brines, with a focus on Bolivia, where the company holds a 50/50 joint venture with Clontarf Energy to bid for lithium extraction contracts under a national government tender. The company plans to generate revenue through a tolling model — deploying and operating CPiTDE units at customer sites and charging ongoing fees rather than selling equipment outright. NEXT-ChemX is currently in the pilot testing phase, with a controlled pilot system under construction in India and no revenues to date. The company has five full-time employees and is funded through shareholder loans, convertible notes, and deferred compensation.
