Brookfield Business Corporation (BBUC) is Brookfield's public vehicle for owning and operating a diversified portfolio of business services and industrial companies globally. BBUC operates as a private equity operator — it acquires controlling or significant stakes in market-leading companies, improves their operating performance and cash flows, and recycles capital through asset sales. BBUC's two largest businesses are Clarios, the global market leader in automotive batteries manufacturing over 150 million batteries per year with roughly 80% of volume coming from the recurring aftermarket replacement channel, and CDK Global, a provider of mission-critical dealer management software deeply embedded in automotive dealership workflows across North America. Other significant businesses include BRK Ambiental (a Brazilian water and wastewater utility), Scientific Games (lottery services across 50+ countries), Sagen (Canadian residential mortgage insurance), Modulaire (modular building leasing in Europe and Asia-Pacific), BrandSafway (global scaffolding), and Unidas (Brazilian fleet management and car rental). BBUC operates through three segments: Industrials, Business Services, and Infrastructure Services. BBUC generates returns two ways: through operating cash flows across its subsidiaries and through capital appreciation realized on asset sales. BBUC typically acquires businesses using equity alongside institutional co-investors and subsidiary-level debt that is non-recourse to the parent. Post-acquisition, BBUC deploys a team of operating professionals to drive cost optimization and margin improvement, then monetizes businesses through IPOs or trade sales and redeploys proceeds into new acquisitions.
