DESCRIPTION

HUTCHMED is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing targeted therapies and immunotherapies for cancer and immunological diseases. Founded in China in 2000, HUTCHMED has three commercially approved, in-house-discovered drugs. Fruquintinib (Elunate/Fruzaqla) is an oral VEGFR inhibitor approved for colorectal cancer in China, the U.S., Europe, Japan, and 38 countries total; it is the largest revenue contributor. Savolitinib (Orpathys) is a MET inhibitor approved in China for NSCLC, partnered globally with AstraZeneca. Surufatinib (Sulanda) is an oral inhibitor approved in China for neuroendocrine tumors, with worldwide rights retained by HUTCHMED. In China, HUTCHMED sells its drugs through a direct oncology sales force of roughly 780 people. Outside China, HUTCHMED relies on partners — Takeda for fruquintinib and AstraZeneca for savolitinib — to commercialize, retaining royalty and manufacturing economics. HUTCHMED's pipeline includes sovleplenib (a Syk inhibitor in NDA review for ITP in China), fanregratinib (an FGFR inhibitor under priority review for bile duct cancer in China), and ranosidenib (a dual IDH1/2 inhibitor in Phase III for AML). HUTCHMED also operates a legacy drug distribution joint venture in China with Sinopharm, though this business is being wound down as HUTCHMED focuses on innovative drug development.
