DESCRIPTION

Loop Media is a digital video streaming platform that distributes short-form video content to business venues — bars, restaurants, gyms, salons, retail stores, and similar out-of-home locations. The core product is the Loop Player, a small proprietary Android device that venue operators plug into their existing TVs to stream curated music video channels (licensed from Universal, Sony, and Warner) and non-music content (sports, news, trivia, and trailers) in place of traditional cable TV. Loop Media sells the Loop Player directly to venues via an in-house sales team and digital marketing. As of September 30, 2024, Loop Media had roughly 77,000 active screens across two channels: an Owned & Operated channel with approximately 27,800 active Loop Players shipped directly to venues, and a Partner Platforms channel with approximately 49,000 screens operated by third-party screen networks. Loop Media earns revenue primarily through programmatic advertising, where ad inventory is sold automatically in real time. Revenue scales with the number of active screens, ad fill rates, and CPMs. The company targets CTV ad budgets rather than traditional out-of-home budgets, since CTV commands higher CPMs. The O&O channel supports both advertising and a subscription model; the Partner Platforms channel is ad-supported only and carries lower margins due to revenue sharing with partners. Non-music and internally developed content carries better margins than music video content, which is subject to revenue sharing with labels. Ad revenue is highly seasonal, with the October–December quarter being the strongest period.
