DESCRIPTION

Nascent Biotech is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing a single drug candidate, Pritumumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting brain cancer and pancreatic cancer. Pritumumab works by binding to ectodomain vimentin, a protein expressed on the surface of many cancer cells, making tumor cells visible to the immune system and triggering immune responses to kill them. The drug is administered intravenously and is designed to mimic the body's natural immune response rather than rely on chemotherapy or radiation. Nascent's initial focus is on glioblastoma and malignant astrocytoma, aggressive brain cancers with poor survival rates under current treatments. Nascent has also received FDA Orphan Drug Designation for pancreatic cancer, and aims to eventually expand Pritumumab's use to other cancers expressing ectodomain vimentin. The company completed Phase 1 trials in April 2023 and received FDA clearance to begin Phase 2, which was targeted to commence in Q4 2024, expected to take roughly 24 months and cost under $15M. Nascent has no revenue, no commercial products, and no manufacturing facilities, relying on third-party contract manufacturers for drug supply. Its business model centers on raising capital to fund trials, with commercialization paths including out-licensing, co-marketing partnerships with larger pharma companies, or self-commercialization. Nascent holds two issued U.S. patents supporting its intellectual property position around Pritumumab.
