DESCRIPTION

Artelo Biosciences is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing small-molecule drugs that target lipid-signaling pathways, with a focus on the endocannabinoid system. Artelo has no approved products and no product revenue. The company's pipeline targets serious conditions with no existing approved treatments, including cancer-related weight loss, chemotherapy-induced nerve damage, and anxiety disorders. Artelo has three drug candidates: ART27.13, a dual cannabinoid agonist in Phase 1b/2a targeting cancer-related anorexia-cachexia syndrome; ART26.12, a FABP5 inhibitor in Phase 1 targeting chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, with additional potential indications in prostate and breast cancer, psoriasis, and PTSD; and ART12.11, a wholly-owned CBD cocrystal in preclinical development targeting anxiety disorders, PTSD, depression, epilepsy, and insomnia. Artelo licenses most of its core IP from AstraZeneca (via the NEOMED Institute) for ART27.13 and from Stony Brook University for ART26.12, with milestone payments and royalties owed to each licensor upon commercialization. Artelo funds operations entirely through equity financing and outsources all manufacturing and clinical execution to CROs and academic collaborators. The company's goal is to advance candidates through clinical trials and either commercialize independently or partner with larger pharmaceutical companies upon regulatory approval.
