Affimed is a clinical-stage immuno-oncology company based in Germany, developing bispecific antibodies designed to engage innate immune cells — primarily NK cells and macrophages — to kill cancer cells. Affimed has no approved products and generates no commercial revenue. Its core technology is the ROCK platform, which produces tetravalent bispecific antibodies called innate cell engagers (ICE). These molecules simultaneously bind CD16A receptors on NK cells and macrophages and tumor-specific antigens on cancer cells, physically bridging immune and tumor cells to trigger targeted cell killing. Affimed has three wholly owned pipeline programs: acimtamig (AFM13), targeting CD30-positive blood cancers including Hodgkin lymphoma; AFM24, targeting EGFR-expressing solid tumors; and AFM28, targeting CD123-positive myeloid cancers including AML. Acimtamig is the most advanced, being evaluated in a Phase 2 study in combination with Artiva's allogeneic NK cell product in triple-refractory Hodgkin lymphoma patients, with FDA Fast Track designation. Affimed is pre-revenue from product sales and funds operations through equity and cash reserves. Two prior collaboration agreements — with Genentech and Roivant Sciences — generated significant upfront payments but have largely run off; Affimed remains eligible for future milestones and royalties under both. Affimed's near-term strategy focuses resources on advancing its three clinical programs, with a target patient population in salvage oncology settings where regulatory pathways may be expedited.
