DESCRIPTION

Qorvo designs and sells radio frequency (RF) semiconductors and components that enable wireless communication in smartphones, defense systems, Wi-Fi devices, and other connected electronics. Qorvo sells primarily to large OEMs and contract manufacturers, with Apple accounting for roughly 50% of FY26 revenue. Qorvo operates through three segments. Advanced Cellular Group (ACG) is the largest segment and serves the mobile market — primarily smartphones — supplying RF modules, envelope tracking power management ICs, antenna tuners, filters, and switches. ACG is heavily weighted toward Apple's annual iPhone ramp, and Qorvo is deliberately exiting lower-margin mass-tier Android business to focus on premium and flagship tiers. High Performance Analog (HPA) serves defense and aerospace, infrastructure, and industrial markets, supplying high-power RF amplifiers, beamforming ICs, and power management solutions for radar, electronic warfare, missile defense, SATCOM, and drones. Defense and aerospace is HPA's fastest-growing sub-market, with management targeting roughly $500M in defense revenue in FY27. Connectivity and Sensors Group (CSG) is the smallest segment and supplies Wi-Fi RF front-end solutions and ultra-wideband (UWB) chips for automotive, enterprise, and industrial applications. Qorvo's revenue is driven by end-device unit volumes, content per device, and product mix. Internally, Qorvo manufactures only its most differentiated process technologies — GaAs, GaN, BAW, and SAW — while outsourcing the majority of production. A pending merger with Skyworks, approved by shareholders in early 2026, is expected to close in early calendar 2027.
