DESCRIPTION

Village Farms International is a Canadian cannabis company that grows and sells cannabis through large-scale controlled environment greenhouses. Its flagship operation, Pure Sunfarms, grows cannabis in Delta, British Columbia and holds the #1 national market share position in dried flower in Canada. Village Farms also operates Rose LifeScience, a Quebec-focused cannabis business that grows its own product and acts as a third-party commercialization partner for other brands in that market. Village Farms sells through three channels in Canada: retail branded sales to provincial distributors, non-branded wholesale to other licensed producers, and international medicinal exports to Germany, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, and Israel. International exports are the highest-margin channel, carrying no Canadian excise tax and commanding premium pricing. In the Netherlands, Village Farms holds one of only 10 government-issued licenses to supply recreational cannabis to coffee shops under a government-run pilot program. Village Farms' core competitive advantage is low-cost greenhouse cultivation at scale, converting existing infrastructure — built over decades of produce operations — into cannabis production, avoiding large greenfield capital costs. The company is expanding Canadian production capacity by converting additional greenhouse space in Delta, scaling international medicinal exports, and ramping a larger Phase 2 facility in the Netherlands expected online in Q2 2026. Village Farms also retains over 2M sq. ft. of greenhouse assets in Texas as an option on future U.S. cannabis legalization.
