DESCRIPTION

Life360 is a family safety and location-sharing platform. The core product is a mobile app that lets family members share real-time location data, receive driving safety alerts, and access emergency assistance features. Users are organized into "Circles," and the app is free at its base level, with paid subscriptions unlocking features like crash detection, roadside assistance, identity theft protection, and unlimited place alerts. Life360 also sells Tile Bluetooth trackers and a Pet GPS device, both of which integrate into the Life360 map. As of year-end 2025, Life360 had ~95.8M MAU and 2.8M Paying Circles. Revenue breaks down into subscriptions (~75%), hardware (~11%), and advertising and data (~14%). The business runs on a freemium flywheel: a large free user base is acquired largely through organic word-of-mouth, and Life360 then converts free users to paid tiers and moves them up to higher-priced plans over time. Hardware is deliberately priced below cost to drive subscription conversion — the Pet GPS, for example, requires a Gold or Platinum subscription to function. The advertising and data business, which grew ~90% in FY25, monetizes Life360's large audience through in-app ads and location-based ad products. In late 2025, Life360 agreed to acquire Nativo, a native advertising technology company, for ~$120M, with the goal of eventually scaling advertising revenue to a level rivaling subscriptions. Growth levers include international expansion, a new focus on aging parents as a demographic, and continued improvement in free-to-paid conversion rates.
