DESCRIPTION

Vince is a U.S.-based luxury apparel brand selling women's and men's ready-to-wear clothing and accessories. Founded in 2002, Vince positions itself as "everyday luxury" — elevated but understated pieces at a price point between mass contemporary and true designer. Core products include cashmere sweaters, silk blouses, leather and suede, outerwear, and accessories for women, and cashmere sweaters, woven shirts, blazers, and outerwear for men. Vince sells through two channels: wholesale (roughly 55% of sales), primarily through Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's, with Nordstrom alone accounting for about 26% of total sales; and direct-to-consumer (roughly 45% of sales), through 43 full-price stores, 12 outlet stores, and vince.com. Vince does not manufacture its own products — it designs in the U.S. and contracts with manufacturers primarily in Asia. Notably, Vince sold its intellectual property to Authentic Brands Group in 2023 and now operates as a licensee, paying ABG a royalty on sales with an annual guaranteed minimum royalty of $11M. This ABG relationship also enables Vince to offer category extensions — shoes, handbags, and accessories via third-party licensees — through a drop-ship model on vince.com with minimal inventory risk. Management views DTC, particularly e-commerce, as the primary growth driver, while also targeting men's expansion, selective international growth, and potential use of Vince's operational infrastructure to support additional brands.
