DESCRIPTION

Intensity Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotech company developing a single drug candidate, INT230-6, for the treatment of solid tumors via direct injection into the tumor. The core challenge INT230-6 addresses is that tumors are dense, high-pressure environments that repel water-based drugs, causing conventional intratumoral injections to fail. INT230-6 combines two established chemotherapy agents — cisplatin and vinblastine sulfate — with a proprietary molecule called SHAO, which allows the drug to disperse through the tumor and diffuse directly into cancer cells. Cisplatin binds to DNA to kill cells, while vinblastine sulfate disrupts cell replication. Both agents also activate the immune system: cisplatin attracts T-cells and vinblastine sulfate promotes immune dendritic cell maturation. Because more than 95% of the drug stays inside the tumor, patients avoid the systemic toxicity associated with these chemotherapies when given intravenously. Intensity has completed two Phase 2 trials showing tumor necrosis and immune activation, and its most critical program is INVINCIBLE-3, a Phase 3 randomized trial in metastatic soft tissue sarcoma, which was paused in early 2025 due to funding constraints. INT230-6 holds orphan drug designation from the FDA for soft tissue sarcoma. Intensity has no approved products, no revenue, and funds operations entirely through equity financing. If INT230-6 is approved, Intensity plans to commercialize it independently or with a partner, selling directly to hospitals and oncology centers on a per-dose basis.
