DESCRIPTION

Aeroméxico is Mexico's flag carrier and only full-service airline, offering passenger air travel to domestic destinations across Mexico and to 51 international cities in 23 countries. Aeroméxico operates two brands: the main Aeroméxico brand, focused on high-density domestic and international routes, and Aeroméxico Connect, a regional brand operating short-haul domestic routes on Embraer E190 aircraft that feed into Aeroméxico's main hub at Mexico City's Benito Juárez International Airport. The airline targets business travelers and higher-income leisure travelers willing to pay a premium for better service and connectivity, leaving the price-sensitive segment to ultra-low-cost carriers like Volaris and VivaAerobus. Aeroméxico uses a hub-and-spoke model centered on MEX, where it holds the largest slot portfolio and commands dominant corporate demand. The airline sells seats through direct channels (its website accounts for roughly 37% of passenger revenue) and indirect channels including travel agencies. Aeroméxico Rewards, a loyalty program with ~13.9 million members, drives retention and ancillary revenue through co-branded credit cards and retail partnerships. Delta owns 18.7% of Aeroméxico and the two airlines cooperate on cross-border routes under a Joint Cooperation Agreement. Aeroméxico's growth strategy centers on replacing smaller Embraer aircraft with larger Boeing 737 MAX jets on domestic routes to lower unit costs and grow revenue per departure, adding Boeing 787-9s on new long-haul routes, and expanding loyalty program membership.
