DESCRIPTION

Vistance Networks (formerly CommScope) provides network infrastructure equipment to cable operators, telecom companies, and enterprises. The company operates two segments following a multi-year transformation that saw it divest five business units — most notably the CCS segment, sold to Amphenol for $10.5B — to focus on its core businesses. Aurora Networks (~64% of revenue) sells broadband access equipment to cable operators and telecom providers, including CMTS, nodes, amplifiers, and video infrastructure. Aurora's growth is currently driven by DOCSIS 4.0 FDX amplifier deployments, which enable cable operators like Comcast to upgrade network speeds to levels competitive with fiber-to-the-home. Aurora claims to be the only vendor supplying the full DOCSIS 4.0 product ecosystem, and revenue is concentrated among a small number of large cable operators, making it project-driven and lumpy. RUCKUS Networks (~36% of revenue) sells enterprise Wi-Fi access points, switches, and cloud management software to organizations in demanding environments — stadiums, hotels, campuses, healthcare facilities, and government buildings. RUCKUS sells primarily through channel partners and is growing through the Wi-Fi 7 upgrade cycle and its RUCKUS One cloud subscription platform. At the company level, profitability is driven by revenue volume and mix, fixed cost leverage, and supply chain costs. The CCS divestiture proceeds were used to repay all debt, with excess cash returned to shareholders as a special distribution.
