Xunlei is a Chinese internet technology company best known for Xunlei Accelerator, a download acceleration tool that speeds up file downloads by drawing on multiple sources simultaneously and routing data through the fastest available connections. The product is free, and Xunlei monetizes through a premium subscription tier called Green Channel, which offers faster speeds and cloud storage up to 10 TB. As of December 2025, Xunlei Accelerator had roughly 50.5 million monthly unique visitors and 7.7 million paid subscribers, with 81% on the highest-tier plan. Xunlei also offers a mobile version of its accelerator, and Xiaomi installs Xunlei's plug-in on all phones it sells in China, providing broad mobile distribution. Xunlei operates three segments: subscriptions, live streaming and other services, and cloud computing. Subscriptions are the primary profit driver. The live streaming segment operates overseas audio platforms Hiya and WeFun, targeting Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and East Asia, after Xunlei exited domestic live streaming in 2023-2024. The live streaming segment also includes advertising revenue from Hupu, a Chinese sports internet platform acquired in May 2025. The cloud computing segment, run through Shenzhen Onething, crowdsources idle consumer bandwidth to deliver CDN and edge computing services to enterprises, though Xunlei sold a 50% stake in Shenzhen Onething in March 2026 and now holds only a 20% minority stake, meaning this segment will no longer be consolidated going forward. Xunlei is also in early-stage development of AI-powered products, though these are not yet generating meaningful revenue.
