DESCRIPTION

Verde Resources is an early-stage company focused on commercializing biochar-infused cold mix asphalt, which it calls BioAsphalt. Unlike conventional hot mix asphalt, Verde's product is applied at ambient temperature and activated with water, eliminating the need for high heat during application. The biochar content sequesters carbon within the road surface, and Verde was issued the world's first carbon removal credit from asphalt production by Puro.earth in April 2025. Verde operates an asset-light licensing model — it does not manufacture asphalt or build roads. Instead, Verde licenses its proprietary emulsifying agent, Verde V24, to established asphalt producers who manufacture and distribute BioAsphalt through their existing infrastructure. Revenue comes from selling Verde V24 directly to licensees, selling carbon removal credits generated per ton of asphalt produced, and eventual licensing fees and royalties as Verde expands globally. Verde's current commercial partner is Ergon, its North American licensee, which has distribution infrastructure across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Verde also offers a secondary product, TerraZyme, an enzyme-based soil stabilization catalyst for road base preparation. Verde's growth strategy is to prove the model in North America through Ergon, then expand into Southeast Asia, where Verde operates a dormant biochar production facility in Borneo, Malaysia. Verde is a very small company with roughly 20 employees, minimal revenue, no minimum purchase commitments from Ergon during the initial go-to-market period, and near-term funding obligations to its technology supplier, C-Twelve.
