DESCRIPTION

Citius Pharmaceuticals is a small biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing specialty drugs in critical care and oncology. Its only commercial product is LYMPHIR (denileukin diftitox-cdxl), an FDA-approved treatment for persistent or recurrent cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), a rare skin cancer with an estimated 30,000–40,000 patients in the U.S. LYMPHIR is an engineered fusion protein that kills tumor cells directly while also depleting immune-suppressing regulatory T cells. Citius in-licensed LYMPHIR from Eisai in 2021 and received FDA approval in August 2024. LYMPHIR is commercialized through Citius Oncology, a majority-owned public subsidiary, which uses a third-party sales organization and distributes through Cardinal Health, Cencora, and McKesson. Revenue is subject to tiered royalties of 10–15% of net sales to Dr. Reddy's, plus substantial milestone obligations to both Dr. Reddy's and Eisai. Beyond LYMPHIR, Citius has three pipeline assets: Mino-Lok, an antibiotic lock solution to salvage infected central venous catheters (no FDA-approved alternative currently exists); Halo-Lido, a topical corticosteroid and lidocaine combination for hemorrhoids (for which Citius is seeking a partner); and NoveCite, a stem cell therapy for ARDS that is largely on hold. Citius's broader model centers on in-licensing or acquiring drug assets with existing safety data in niche, underserved markets where a small commercial effort can establish meaningful market position.
