Hypha Labs is a pre-revenue, development-stage company building a countertop home appliance for growing functional mushrooms. The core product is the Hypha Micropearl accelerator, a device that produces enriched mycelium — called Micropearls — in eight days. Micropearls are concentrated, tasteless, and odorless, and are designed to be mixed into food or beverages to deliver the health benefits of functional mushrooms like Lion's Mane, Reishi, and Cordyceps. The device works with pre-sterilized, replaceable cartridges containing nutrient formulations, which reduce the risk of mold or yeast contamination common in home cultivation. Users scan a QR code on the cartridge via the Hypha app, insert it into the device, and harvest Micropearls eight days later. Hypha Labs plans to sell the device directly to consumers online, with recurring revenue from replacement cartridges sold individually or via a subscription service — a razor-and-blades model where device placements drive ongoing cartridge purchases. Commercial launch is targeted for late 2026, and the company has not yet generated revenue or secured a manufacturing partner. Hypha Labs has five employees and is still in the design and testing phase, working with mycologists to finalize the product. The company also holds two U.S. patent applications covering machine learning algorithms for mycelium processing, including psilocybin extraction, hinting at longer-term pharmaceutical or biotech ambitions. Hypha Labs was previously a cannabis testing lab operating as Digipath, and pivoted to its current business after selling those assets in February 2024.
