DESCRIPTION

Sow Good is a small U.S.-based CPG company that pioneered the freeze-dried candy category, selling crunchy, intensely flavored versions of familiar gummy, chewy, and hard candies. Sow Good began commercial sales in early 2023 and built a vertically integrated manufacturing operation in Irving, Texas, selling finished goods through retail and distribution channels. The business model has since been fundamentally restructured. In December 2025, Sow Good sold its manufacturing assets to Trea Grove — a related-party entity controlled by the company's co-founders — and entered into a Distribution Agreement under which Trea Grove handles all manufacturing, sales, and logistics. Sow Good now earns a 10% commission on gross receipts from Trea Grove's sales of Sow Good-branded products. The company holds no inventory, owns no manufacturing assets, and has just 8 employees. This restructuring was driven by a sharp decline in the freeze-dried candy category in late 2025, driven by large CPG entrants (Mars and Hershey) and an influx of cheap imported product. The Distribution Agreement runs through July 2026, after which Sow Good's revenue model is unclear. The board is actively evaluating strategic alternatives, which may include adjacent food categories or other industries entirely.
