DESCRIPTION

Barfresh Food Group makes ready-to-drink and ready-to-blend frozen beverages for institutional customers, primarily K-12 school districts. The core product, Twist & Go, is a single-serve smoothie made with real fruit and yogurt and no added sugars, sold in bottled and carton formats designed to meet USDA school meal program requirements. In 2024, Barfresh launched Pop & Go, a 100% juice freeze pop targeting the school lunch daypart, which management sees as a larger market opportunity than the breakfast daypart where Twist & Go competes. Barfresh also sells bulk concentrate in gallon-sized formats for high-volume locations like military bases, single-serve ready-to-blend packs for foodservice operators, and a 100% juice concentrate product. Barfresh sells through broadline distributors, and the business is heavily seasonal, with peak volumes in Q3 when schools are back in session. School districts procure through a formal bid process, and once a product is on a district's menu, reorders tend to be automatic. Barfresh estimates it has roughly 5% penetration in U.S. K-12 school districts. Following the October 2025 acquisition of Arps Dairy, Barfresh also operates a raw and processed milk segment supplying a single customer, though management frames this as a supply chain asset rather than a growth business. The Arps Dairy acquisition was primarily intended to bring manufacturing in-house, replacing co-manufacturers to reduce costs and eliminate supply constraints that had caused some school districts to drop Barfresh products. A new 44,000 sq ft facility under construction in Defiance, Ohio is expected to support over $200M in annual revenues at full capacity.
