DESCRIPTION

NEXGEL manufactures high water content, electron beam cross-linked hydrogels — thin, flexible gel patches used in wound care, transdermal drug delivery, medical diagnostics, and cosmetics. NEXGEL argues its electron beam cross-linking process, which avoids chemical agents, produces gels that are more biocompatible and better suited for medical-grade and sensitive skin applications than those made by competitors using UV or chemical cross-linking. The company operates two main business lines. In contract manufacturing, NEXGEL supplies bulk hydrogel rolls to corporate customers such as iRhythm (ECG monitors) and Cintas (first aid kits), who incorporate the gel into their own finished products. This segment benefits from low manufacturing utilization — currently around 15–20% of capacity — meaning incremental volume flows through at high contribution margins. In consumer branded products, NEXGEL sells directly to consumers on Amazon and through selective retail under brands including Silly George (beauty, primarily false eyelashes), Kenkoderm (sensitive skin care), and MedaGel/SilverSeal (OTC wound care). Silly George is the largest brand, projected to contribute roughly $6–6.5M of ~$13M in FY25 revenue. NEXGEL also has a partnership with Stada, a European consumer health company, under which Stada pre-funds product development costs via a non-dilutive advance, repayable only from partnership profits. A key potential growth driver is an exclusive supply agreement to provide gel pads for AbbVie's RESONIC body contouring device, though this program has been repeatedly delayed and is now expected to begin contributing in 2026.
