Kodiak Sciences is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing treatments for retinal diseases that cause blindness. Kodiak has no approved products and generates no revenue. Kodiak's lead candidate is tarcocimab (branded Zenkuda), an anti-VEGF therapy targeting diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and wet age-related macular degeneration — conditions where abnormal blood vessel growth damages vision. Tarcocimab is built on Kodiak's proprietary Antibody Biopolymer Conjugate (ABC) platform, which extends a drug's time in the eye to roughly three times longer than existing anti-VEGF therapies, potentially allowing patients to receive fewer injections. Tarcocimab has completed four Phase 3 trials and met primary endpoints in three of them; a fourth Phase 3 study in wet AMD has topline data expected in 3Q 2026, after which Kodiak plans to file for FDA approval. Kodiak has retained all global rights to its pipeline, bearing all development and commercialization costs itself. Beyond tarcocimab, Kodiak is developing KSI-501, a bispecific targeting both VEGF and IL-6 for wet AMD, and KSI-101, a bispecific for macular edema secondary to inflammation, a condition with no currently approved intravitreal biologic treatments. Kodiak funds operations entirely through capital raises.
