DESCRIPTION

Mobivity is a small marketing technology company that connects brick-and-mortar brands with mobile game publishers through its Connected Rewards platform. The platform functions as a three-sided marketplace: brands (primarily quick-service restaurants and convenience stores like Chevron and Circle K) offer consumers real-world rewards — such as a free burger or gas discount — in exchange for downloading a mobile game, while game publishers like Scopely and Playtika pay Mobivity a cost-per-install (CPI) fee for each install or in-game action Mobivity drives. Mobivity's underlying technology, Recurrency, integrates with brand POS systems to enable reward redemption and transaction attribution, and with mobile attribution partners to track in-game behavior in near real-time. Mobivity earns the spread between the CPI fee (roughly $4–$10 per install) and the cost of the consumer reward, generating gross margins of roughly 60–70% of the CPI fee. Mobivity sells directly to both brands and publishers through its own sales force, resellers, and agents. Brands sign multi-month or annual contracts committing to a volume of monthly impressions, giving Mobivity some revenue visibility. Revenue scales with three key variables: audience size, consumer conversion rate, and CPI fees. Mobivity recently divested its legacy SMS marketing business to focus entirely on Connected Rewards, and is growing by adding brand partners, expanding its Paytronix technology partnership, and investing in data science to improve conversion rates and demonstrate stronger publisher returns.
