TROOPS is a Hong Kong-based conglomerate operating across financial services, property, and advisory businesses. Its core business is money lending, conducted through Giant Credit and First Asia Finance, which provide personal and corporate loans to borrowers in Hong Kong. TROOPS argues it benefits from banking regulations that create demand for licensed non-bank lenders. TROOPS also owns several commercial properties in Hong Kong, including a 19-story building (Suns Tower) and other properties in Tsim Sha Tsui and Tsuen Wan, generating rental income from tenants. Its fintech arm, Giant Financial Services, operates the FinNet app, an online marketplace connecting users to financial products and insurance referrals, with over 200,000 registered users. Through its 2024 acquisition of Riches Holdings, TROOPS also provides immigration consulting, overseas education advisory, and property agency services. The company generates interest income from lending, rental income from properties, and fees and referral income from its advisory and technology businesses. TROOPS was originally a SPAC that acquired a Chinese LCD/LED display manufacturer, before exiting manufacturing entirely by 2014 and pivoting aggressively into Hong Kong financial services through a series of acquisitions starting in 2017.
