DESCRIPTION

Aytu BioPharma is a small U.S. specialty pharma company focused on commercializing branded prescription drugs for CNS and pediatric conditions. Aytu does not conduct drug discovery — it acquires or in-licenses approved or near-approved products and sells them through wholesalers, distributors, and pharmacies. The current revenue base consists of two ADHD products, Adzenys XR-ODT and Cotempla XR-ODT — the only FDA-approved extended-release orally disintegrating tablets of amphetamine and methylphenidate, respectively — which together generate the large majority of net revenue. A smaller pediatric portfolio includes Karbinal ER (a prescription allergy suspension for children) and two fluoride-based prescription multivitamins. A key commercial asset is Aytu's RxConnect platform, a proprietary network of roughly 1,000 pharmacies through which the majority of ADHD scripts flow, enabling Aytu to cap patient co-pays and manage gross-to-net economics. The company's growth bet is EXXUA, an FDA-approved antidepressant for major depressive disorder that works via a novel mechanism and carries no label warning for sexual dysfunction or weight gain — differentiating it from the SSRI and SNRI drugs that dominate the MDD market. Aytu plans to launch EXXUA using its existing psychiatry-focused sales force, with full commercial ramp expected in mid-2026. The core strategy is to use the ADHD and pediatric business as a cash-flow base while layering CNS products onto the same commercial infrastructure.
