DESCRIPTION

RingCentral sells cloud-based business communications software. The core product is RingEX, a UCaaS platform that replaces traditional on-premises phone systems with a cloud-based phone, messaging, video, and fax solution. Businesses use RingEX as their primary phone system to make and receive calls, route customers, and collaborate internally. RingCentral sells to businesses of all sizes — from small businesses to large enterprises — directly through an inside sales force and indirectly through resellers and Global Service Providers like AT&T, BT, and Vodafone, which resell RingCentral's products under their own brands. Revenue is over 90% subscription-based, with customers paying on a per-user basis, and subscription gross margins are above 80%. RingCentral also offers RingCX, a native AI-powered contact center solution that more than doubled in revenue in FY25 and has over 1,500 customers, as well as a higher-end contact center product powered by NICE CXone for large enterprises. The company's AI strategy centers on "agentic voice AI" — AI agents that handle voice and text interactions before, during, and after customer calls. The three core AI products are AIR (AI Receptionist), AVA (AI Virtual Assistant), and ACE (AI Conversation Expert). AIR uses usage-based pricing tied to call volume rather than headcount, which RingCentral views as a new and additive revenue model alongside the traditional seat-based subscription. Customers using at least one paid AI product now represent nearly 10% of overall ARR and show retention rates above 100%.
