DESCRIPTION

Scienture Holdings is a small specialty pharmaceutical company focused on commercializing and developing drugs for cardiovascular and central nervous system diseases. Scienture's business model centers on reformulating or redelivering existing drugs via the FDA's 505(b)(2) pathway — which allows approval by referencing existing safety and efficacy data — rather than developing entirely novel molecules. This reduces development time and cost while still allowing for patent protection and market exclusivity. Scienture has two commercial products: Arbli, an oral liquid suspension of losartan potassium for treating hypertension in adults and children, positioned as the first FDA-approved ready-to-use liquid formulation of losartan; and Rezenopy, a high-dose naloxone nasal spray licensed from Kindeva Drug Delivery for reversing opioid overdoses. Scienture sells through wholesalers, specialty pharmacies, and distributors, and is building its U.S. commercial operation through a Contract Sales Organization. Both products launched recently, and the company is pre-profitability. Scienture's pipeline includes several early-stage candidates: a self-injection pen for acute migraine, a potential biosimilar for clearing occluded catheters, and a long-acting bupivacaine injection for post-surgical pain. Scienture outsources all manufacturing to third-party contract manufacturers and has no plans to build its own facilities. The company was formerly a healthcare IT business called TRxADE Health before acquiring Scienture LLC in 2024 and divesting its legacy businesses to focus entirely on branded specialty pharmaceuticals.
