DESCRIPTION

Live Nation is the world's largest live entertainment company, promoting roughly 55,000 events annually across 55 countries and connecting around 159 million fans to over 11,000 artists. Live Nation handles the full concert promotion cycle — booking artists, operating or securing venues, marketing shows, and selling tickets — and operates across three segments: Concerts, Ticketing, and Sponsorship & Advertising. The Concerts segment, which drives the vast majority of revenue, earns thin margins on artist guarantees and ticket sales, but captures higher-margin on-site revenue (concessions, parking, premium seating) when Live Nation owns or operates the venue. Ticketmaster, Live Nation's ticketing platform, sells tickets on behalf of venues, promoters, and sports teams worldwide, retaining a per-ticket fee on roughly 346 million fee-generating tickets annually. The Sponsorship segment sells brand deals ranging from venue naming rights to on-site activation, and grows as Live Nation adds more venues and events to its portfolio. A key strategic priority is "Venue Nation" — a multi-year capital program to expand Live Nation's owned and operated venue footprint globally, particularly in international markets. The rationale is that owning venues lets Live Nation capture on-site economics on top of the promotion and ticketing revenue it already earns. Management cites 20%+ returns on these venue investments, with new venues reaching mature profitability roughly 2-3 years after opening. International markets now represent roughly half the business, with Latin America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific identified as key growth areas.
