DESCRIPTION

China Pharma is a U.S.-listed holding company that operates entirely through its Chinese subsidiary, Hainan Helpson Medical and Biotechnology, based in Haikou, Hainan Province. Helpson develops, manufactures, and sells generic pharmaceutical products for human use in China, focusing on diseases with high prevalence in the Chinese population. Helpson's 19-product portfolio spans four therapeutic areas: anti-infection and respiratory diseases (roughly 60% of revenue), CNS and cerebrovascular/cardiovascular diseases (roughly 32%), digestive diseases, and other products including chemotherapy nausea treatments. Most products are prescription drugs sold to hospitals and clinics through provincially and municipally licensed pharmaceutical distributors. Helpson's sales team targets physicians and hospital administrators directly through seminars and clinical support to drive brand recognition and adoption. Revenue is driven by volume and pricing, both of which are heavily shaped by Chinese government policy — particularly centralized procurement, where the government runs national bidding rounds for generic drugs at sharply reduced prices in exchange for guaranteed volume. Passing government-mandated consistency evaluations (bioequivalence tests) is increasingly required to participate in these bids. Helpson is also expanding into consumer health products like supplements, which are purchased out-of-pocket and therefore less exposed to government pricing pressure. Additional growth initiatives include pipeline expansion into new therapeutic areas, contract development and manufacturing services, and digital and e-commerce channels for prescription fulfillment.
