DESCRIPTION

Edgewell Personal Care makes and sells branded personal care products, primarily in wet shaving and sun and skin care. Wet Shave is the largest segment, selling razor systems, disposable razors, and shave prep products under the Schick, Wilkinson Sword, and Billie brands, plus private label products through its Edgewell Custom Brands unit. Edgewell claims the number two global position in wet shaving behind P&G's Gillette. The wet shave business benefits from a razors-and-blades model — handles drive consumer acquisition, while refillable blade cartridges generate recurring, higher-margin revenue. The Sun and Skin Care segment includes Banana Boat and Hawaiian Tropic (leading U.S. sun care share), Wet Ones antibacterial wipes, and men's grooming brands Bulldog, Cremo, and Jack Black across mass, masstige, and luxury price points. Edgewell is divesting its Feminine Care segment (Playtex, Stayfree, Carefree) to Essity for $340M, with the proceeds targeted primarily at debt reduction. Post-divestiture, Edgewell plans to focus on four categories: shaving, sun care, skin care, and men's grooming. The company sells through major retailers like Walmart and Target, supplemented by DTC channels and e-commerce. International markets account for roughly 40% of sales, with over 55% of shave revenue generated outside the U.S. Profitability is driven by pricing, volume, and productivity savings of roughly 250-310 bps annually from sourcing, automation, and plant efficiency.
