DESCRIPTION

Flexible Solutions International is a small Canadian specialty chemical manufacturer that operates primarily through two business units. NanoChem Solutions, the larger unit at roughly 70% of revenue, manufactures Thermal Polyaspartates (TPAs) — biodegradable polymers used to prevent scale and corrosion in oilfield water systems, improve fertilizer availability in agriculture, prevent scale buildup in drip irrigation, and serve as a biodegradable substitute for polyacrylates in cleaning products. NanoChem also makes nitrogen conservation products that slow the breakdown of nitrogen fertilizer, helping farmers retain more usable nitrogen in the soil. The second unit, ENP Investments, sells specialty turf and horticulture products to golf courses, sports fields, and greenhouses, with revenue concentrated in the second half of the year. Flexible Solutions sells through distributors across North and South America, with oilfield service companies and agricultural distributors among its key customers. The company is pushing to grow a food ingredients business within NanoChem, signing two long-term food ingredient contracts in 2025 with minimum annual revenues of $6.5M each, and investing roughly $4M in FDA and SQF-certified clean room manufacturing capacity in Peru, Illinois. To manage tariff exposure on raw material imports, Flexible Solutions built a duplicate production facility in Panama that began shipments in early 2026. The company is also evaluating entry into drug compounding, though management says it will not invest further without advance orders and a partner.
