DESCRIPTION

Weight Watchers is a weight management company that operates two distinct businesses: a legacy behavioral subscription program and a growing U.S. telehealth clinical business. The behavioral business, which has roughly 2.6 million subscribers, is built around a proprietary nutritional algorithm (the Points Program) delivered via a digital app with tools like an AI food scanner, fitness content, and a member social network. Members can add virtual or in-person workshops through a higher-tier subscription. The clinical business, WeightWatchers Clinic, launched via the 2023 acquisition of Sequence and offers telehealth access to board-certified obesity medicine doctors who can prescribe FDA-approved GLP-1 medications, paired with a multidisciplinary care team and full access to the behavioral program. The clinical business had roughly 130,000 subscribers as of end of fiscal 2025. Weight Watchers sells primarily direct-to-consumer via its website and app, with subscriptions as the primary revenue vehicle. Clinical subscribers generate roughly 5x the ARPU of behavioral subscribers, so mix shift toward clinical drives blended revenue per subscriber higher. The company also sells through a B2B channel targeting employers and health plans. Weight Watchers recently emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June 2025, cutting debt from roughly $1.6B to $465M. Growth priorities include rebuilding the app, scaling the clinical business, launching adjacent condition-specific programs (starting with menopause), expanding internationally, and growing the B2B channel.
