DESCRIPTION

Golden Minerals is a junior gold, silver, and copper exploration company with no operating mines, no proven mineral reserves, and no revenue. The company has three full-time employees and is headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Golden Minerals' core activity is early-stage exploration at two properties: Sarita Este/Desierto in Salta Province, Argentina (where the company holds a 51%-67% interest through JVs with Cascadero across roughly 3,335 hectares), and Sand Canyon in northwestern Nevada (where the company holds a 60% interest across roughly 2,923 hectares). Drilling at Sarita Este has identified shallow, oxidized gold mineralization, but no formal mineral resources have been established. Sand Canyon's early drilling did not find economic concentrations of precious metals. Golden Minerals' business model is that of a classic junior explorer: raise capital, spend it on drilling and geological work, and attempt to prove up mineral resources that could then be sold, joint-ventured, or developed into a mine. The company sold off substantially all of its operating and advanced-stage assets in 2024-2025, including the Velardeña and Chicago mines in Mexico, leaving it as a pure exploration entity. Golden Minerals has flagged going concern risk, warning that it may exhaust its cash as early as Q2 2026 unless it secures new financing, sells remaining assets, or sells the company outright.
